Some of the best storage in a home is the storage you never see coming. A built-in turns an awkward wall, a sloped ceiling or an empty alcove into something that looks like it was always meant to be there. Copacetic Woodwork + Design builds custom built-ins, closets and home offices in Scarborough for homes across Toronto.

We start with a precise measurement of your space and an accurate drawing, so you can see what you are getting before we build it. For one loft bedroom with a vaulted ceiling, we built a closet right into the angled wall. It includes two floor-to-ceiling sliding doors, a dresser with solid maple dovetail drawers and a TV on a wall mount that pulls out of its nook. The finish is a low gloss post-catalyzed lacquer.

Our portfolio covers a wide range of work:
You can also see black walnut built-in shelves and more in our residential portfolio.
We build with materials such as plywood and waterproof MDF for durability, and we work in solid woods and veneers including black walnut and oak. Our finishing booth lets us offer custom stain, opaque lacquer and polished piano finishes under one roof, so doors, panels and trim match. Finished components are designed to be removable for refinishing or touch-up.

Walls are rarely square and ceilings are rarely flat, especially in older homes. A built-in is scribed and fitted to your actual room, so there are no gaps to fill and no wasted corners. We can add the details that make a piece work every day, such as hidden compartments for a television, drawers sized for what you store, adjustable shelves and cable access for a desk. Because the same shop designs, builds, finishes and installs, you get a single point of contact from first sketch to final fitting.
