Furniture should be as well made as the room it sits in. At Copacetic Woodwork + Design we build custom furniture in our Scarborough shop, from dining tables and sideboards to dressers, side tables and desks. Each piece is designed with you and made to order.
Our furniture portfolio leans on beautiful woods. You will find a black walnut sideboard and dining sideboard, a breakfront, a highboy-style dresser, a round walnut table, a zebrano table, and a walnut side table. We also build custom tables that combine wood and metal, which we can do because we have our own metal fabrication building next to the woodshop.
Because everything is custom, we can adjust the size, proportions and storage to fit the room, from a dining sideboard sized for your wall to a console unit that sits within a built-in. Our design team prepares accurate drawings so you can see the piece before we build it, and before the finishing stage you can see it in our shop.
All of our furniture is finished in our own finishing facilities. Custom stain, opaque lacquer or a polished piano finish are all available, which gives us control over the final result and consistency across a set.

A table or sideboard is something a family uses for decades, so we build with that in mind. Solid-wood construction, careful joinery and a durable finish mean pieces can be touched up or refinished rather than replaced. Tell us how you use the piece, whether that is hosting dinners, storing records or setting up a quiet place to work, and we will design the proportions, storage and details around it. Because we also build kitchens and built-ins, a furniture piece can be designed to sit comfortably next to them.
Yes. We build in woods such as black walnut and zebrano, and offer custom stain, opaque lacquer or polished finishes.
Yes. We build cabinetry and furniture under the same roof, so finishes can be coordinated.
